The AUS-8 steel holds its edge way better than the cheap serrated knife I had before, and it still glides through crusty sourdough without squishing the middle. Slicing a whole watermelon is where that long blade really earns its spot in the drawer.

I cut through a whole butternut squash without it slipping once, and the 10-inch blade finally gives me enough clearance over big loaves of sourdough. The serrations are aggressive enough that I barely need any pressure.
