The silicone tips actually grip a slippery piece of salmon without tearing it, which my old metal tongs never managed. They're also gentle enough that I don't wince every time I use them on my nonstick pan.

These have completely replaced my old metal tongs, which used to scratch my nonstick pan every time I flipped a steak. The silicone tips grip food firmly without squashing it, and I even use them to fish the last bit of pasta out of the pot.

I was worried the silicone tips would feel flimsy, but they've got enough give to grab a slippery piece of pasta without tearing it. They also don't scratch my nonstick pan, which was the whole reason I switched from metal tongs.
