The serrated edge on this thing goes through ripe tomatoes without crushing them, which my old straight blade never managed. Compact enough that it lives on the counter now instead of in the drawer.

The AUS-8 steel holds an edge way better than the cheap serrated knife I replaced. Sliced a case of ripe tomatoes this week and it never crushed or tore the skins. The 5" size is perfect for small hands, though I wish it came with a sheath.
